Baby's first steps

With a heavy thud of iron and leather, a large sack of equipment crashes onto the base of a tree. Next came a sheathed sword which fell point first before the rest of it fell onto the ground, like a tree fresh from a woodcutter's work. And finally, the owner dismounted from her steed, the heavy ka-clink of her spurs signaled the touchdown onto soil. Her blue eyes took a heartful view of the horizon, another day was ending. As the sun sank into the ground, with the sky painted orange, a soft autumn breeze carressed through her body toward a clear purple border that symbolized the coming nightfall at the opposing side of the sunset. She took in a deep breath and slowly exhaled a sigh before she let go and sat down at the tree with the dropped sack next to her. The young lady knight leaned back against the trunk as one leg curled to bring her knee to her chest, fingers laced together and placed themselves onto her knee to acheive a suitable position for herself.. She could relax now, another day of traveling completed for Lady Sachiel. She watched the horizon a little longer before she snapped out of her daydream and gathered items in her sack to make the fire for tonight.

Several hours had passed by, her steed now sleeping peacefully and she herself was snuggled up in a thick sleeping sack, just her and her journal now, her trademark munak hat was placed next to her. She opened it now and began her entry:

Oct 30th

Dear Journal,

It has been one exact week since that day I received the hat from my father. And that dream, that strange dream came back to me again and again since I last wrote. It won't be any different from last time tonight I presume. Though, after seeing it so many times, I can at least list down what I have seen.

-A female monk, blonde hair and by her ears, she wasn't human.
-A male assassin, the previous owner of this munak hat.
-Brown rolling hills, exactly the one I'm on right now. This is were it will begin, my first steps.

It appears the dream between these two took place near Juno. It's too dark and I'm too exhausted to investigate now, though I can see the floating city from here. I'll resume tommorow morning.

I'm lucky to be here at all, the head chapter master granted me my wish simply because he believed this would benefit me about knowing the world outside of Prontera.

Though, it makes me wonder, and perhaps, if I finish or I lose this, will make the person reading this wonder: Why am I doing this?

You know, to answer you truthfully, I don't know. I really don't, well at least with an answer that would make sense. I could reply "I want to get this dream out of my head, I feel like I'm cursed!", but I'm not. In all actuality, maybe the only statement I could possibly give, if an answer really is in demand, is: "this interests me, I want to know about them.". Its not hard to tell these two that haunt my dreams were an item together, and that they loved each other. So I'm really just curious about what happened to these two beyond this dream I have. Did these two live happily? How did these two live their lives day by day? Or are they even alive now?

Tommorow morning will be the first day that it will begin. That my little "adventure" will begin. Wish me luck mother, father, your little girl's 22 now...this will be the first birthday without you two.

~Kihona Juline Sachiel

With her eyes fighting to keep the lids open, she closed her journal immediately after she had finished her most recent entry. "Mm, time to sleep...", she whispered to herself, yawning and stretching, "..tommorow..is..an-ther...day.".

With that, her journal fell with pencil inside, from her lap and landed partially on the munak hat, causing it to open up onto the latest entry. Slowly the breeze rustled with life again and the dust, as if sentient gathered around the opposite page of her entry in the form of a hand and stuck there. Under it appeared as a weak scribble that read, "Good luck birthday girl..."
About this Entry
Mar. 6th, 2006 @ 12:12 am Journal Entry dated Oct. 24th
Dear Journal,

Yesterday I had received an early birthday gift from my daddy. It was amazing, receiving something, if anything from him. When I had opened it, there was something I have sought after for many months. It was a munak hat, and a very old one at that. There were stitches on it and the talismen was aged into a slight brown. New munak hats would always be a bright red color, although now, it had an old, dull red and the small ball on top was just as yellow-brown as the talismen. When I picked it up to inspect it, I noticed something rubbed out underneath it, it seemed to be a name of some sort, but I couldn't make it out. This can only come to some conclusion that he bought it used. But it matters not, getting something from daddy and being a munak hat of all things is more than enough to satisfy me for an entire life time.

Though, as happy as I am for having this trinket, there was something interesting I wish to tell you about. A bit silly of me, I wore it when I went to sleep, I suppose that was the giddy little daughter inside of me. But that wasn't what I wanted to say, it was a dream I had. It started out like this:

I woke up on top of a grassy hill, or I think it was me. I tried to move, though it felt like my body had a mind of its own. Next, I'm standing up, and in the distance before me was a young woman...blonde..waving at me. I couldn't tell anything else about her, she seemed to be wearing a robe of some sort: Everything seemed to be a blur. As she ran toward me, she was yelling something, but I couldn't make it out, there was nothing but silence. The last thing I remembered was picking up a munak hat, the same one I wore before I went to bed because it had the same stitch when I first saw it. Then, a flash blinded me. The next thing I knew was that I was on the floor.

It was a weird dream, though dreams are meant to be that way I suppose.

Well, I'll have to end this now, yearly knight exams are commencing soon, and I can't be late...

Coming from a strong bloodline of proud women, Kihona was sent into the academy at the age of 17 where she trained as a squire for 3 years. Despite the oddly short time of training, she was moved up by the generosity of her mentor Sir Colossi. One year later, she is finally deemed worthy to be a knight; nothing special, no ridiculous 5+ step promotion in rank like so many new "gifted" knights receive. She's just a regular run-of-the-mill knight. Just like her ancestors that had to start out as a typical knight, she accepted no gifts or favors to become some high ranking offical. She was going to earn it, like her ancestors did before her and that, she takes pride in.
Despite that she's only an inkling compared to the more experienced knights, it does not falter her determination to move up the ranks in the more honorable way, through duty. So proud that she is, she accepts no guild offers and always preferred to work alone.

When her first anniversary arrived of being a knight, she received a gift from her father. She opened it to find an old, beat up munak hat. She had always wanted one, ignoring the obvious sight that it was damaged; the fact her tough as nails father gave her a gift was instantly the equilavent to gold in her point of view.

And this is where it shall begin...

Salutations,

My name is Kihona Juline Sachiel, a knight in the world of Ragnarok Online. Within this short story, it will show how I lived my life one year after I had joined the Prontera Calvary. Though only an amateur to writing, I do hope that I keep it interesting for the readers. Initially the story began in RoD (Ragnarok Online Diary), though some friends prefer not to use it, so I am going to use this as well to post the story. I certainly do hope that I keep with this as I have a tendency to move onto other things. Most of all I hope this is enjoyable for you.
